Review of The Dyatlov Pass Incident (2013) by Greg W — 23 Nov 2013
This is a strange one because the film makers have taken an unsolved mystery from 1959 of an event that actually occured in Russia, given it a modern spin, added lots of conspiracy theories and then turned the final half an hour into a horror movie.
It's a mystery / suspense / horror movie. It kind of works and is entertaining enough but I just had a nagging feeling that the better movie would have been a true life account of the original event with an educated guess as to what actually might have happened, something based in reality.
For anyone looking for this in the UK, it is under a different name - The Dyatlov Pass Incident. One thing this movie did do was spike my interest in the original history and it certainly is strange and there are a lot of wacko theories out there.
