Review of The Dyatlov Pass Incident (2013) by Roxanne R — 05 Jan 2014
This film is partly based on facts: Back in 1959 nine Russian hikers perished along the Ural mountains where the weather was unbearable. The lack of eyewitnesses inspired much speculation and Soviet investigators simply determined that "a compelling natural force" had caused the deaths.
Although the corpses showed no signs of struggle, two victims had fractured skulls, two had broken ribs, and one was missing her tongue and eyes. Makes you wonder... So on this film taking place in present times we have five college students that were issued a grant to return to the site of the original events in the belief that they can uncover and document the truth of what happened at Dyatlov's Pass.
Problem is that what they discover is more shocking than anything they could have imagined. Forget Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity- those films were bad but this one is a vast improvement over them! I concur with most of the critics reviews (surprising lol) so get ready to watch an educational, entertaining and a little far fetched account of what may have happened at the Ural mountains of Russia back in 1959 and don't forget to make some hot cocoa because just watching the scenery will make you feel cold.
