Review of The Duke of Burgundy (2015) by Grey S — 17 Apr 2015
The Duke of Burgundy is visually stunning accompanied by its beautifully Victorian era sound score. Knudsen and D'Anna performances through out have a nice flow with each other however, remains a little to general even during "climatic" scenes. Even with their relationship turning unconnected, the two women barley tried anything, "out of there comfort zone".
Ironically half way through the film, I couldn't wait for it to end. I REALLY had to go to the girls room after consuming two cans of Saaz (CALGARY UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL). The Duke left me satisfactory satisfied. If that makes sense.
