Review of The DUFF (2015) by Matt H — 22 Jun 2015
Solid teen comedy. Reminds me stylistically of Easy A. Mae Whitman is really good, but was too obviously not near enough high school age. Not that that's anything new with teen comedies, but it's probably the first time I noticed it on the first watch.
Mae Whitman and Robbie Amell work well together and have good chemistry. There's some good dialogue and then some bad lines, but I'd say comes out positively overall. Definitely better than the average teen movies, especially from when I was around that age 15 years ago.
