Review of The DUFF (2015) by Matthew C — 17 Jul 2015
A rare "teen comedy" that's very witty and entertaining. Does it forge new ground in the genre? No. There's plenty of cliches throughout. But the movie gets points for a good cast -- especially the very charming and likable Mae Whitman, playing the titular "duff.
" Like the many so-called classic 90s films of this genre, I have a feeling that this effort will become a notable product of its time and inspire some die-hard, nostalgic love someday.
