Review of The Dry Land (2010) by Jay K — 19 Dec 2010
Well done movie. When it rain it pours on James (Ryan O'Nan) after returning from a tour of duty in Iraq. James represses information regarding the specifics of a combat incident which set him up for failure in the days/weeks after returning.
He loses control and seeks the source of what really happened in his Army buddies to help him move on. He doesn't like what he finds. He loses his girlfriend, catches up with his deployment buddies, his mother dies and he is sent into a drunken rage, which leaves you to guess the future outcome.
One detail I was fond of was they drink Steel Reserve throughout the movie, NICE!
