Review of The Drop (2014) by Netflic — 12 Sep 2014
It's a crime drama in New York, or , so-called "Crooklyn drama". It is a story of a bartender who works in a bar used by mafia to move illegal cash. There are a couple of interesting twists in the story, and sometimes it keeps you sitting on the edge of a chair.
But there are many little irritating details that tell you: it is not a great movie. Polish immigrants played by American actors talk with annoyingly phony Polish accent, Chechen mafia speaks Russian as if they were born and grown up in Leningrad.
And many others that should not matter for majority of people but reveal sloppiness. Besides, there was nothing really new that would rise this movie above a stereotype. Overall, a decent but mediocre movie.
