Review of The Drop (2006) by Barry T — 29 Nov 2014
Tense, slow burning, intelligent crime drama set in the underworld of Brooklyn. Based on a Dennis Lehane short story this expertly acted and well scripted film is multi layered and informative. Set around a bar where 'drops' of money are made for the mob we meet the two central character.
Marv and Bob. Slowly we learn more in each scene, with great character development. Gandolfini is great in his final film role but the real star is Tom Hardy who has proved in his last two films, Locke and this drop, that he is an excellent actor.
