Review of The Drop (2006) by Craig F — 29 Dec 2014
Elevated by extraordinary performances by Hardy, Gandolfini and Rapace, and a strong story by Lehane, The Drop soars past the standard gangster film remaining intriguing throughout. The Drop never drags on or feels dull, and keeps building to its well crafted and unexpected ending.
Playing an unassuming barkeep, Hardy gives a stellar performance as well as a masterful accent. A dark, character driven story, The Drop delivers in its rewarding final act.
