Review of The Drop (2006) by Jason C — 07 Mar 2015
Always a little tough seeing Gandolfini as anyone other than Tony Soprano and in this movie he basically is him, but that is a good thing for me. Also this is his last movie he made I think which that in itself is a reason to watch.
Especially now that we will never get a Sopranos movie with him in it anyway. Tom Hardy is awesome in this movie and the whole time you are seeing him being so very calm and timid awaiting to see what is gonna push him to lose it or if it is really just who he is.
The story is pretty typical for this type of movie but does do a good job of keeping you interested, the ending lost me a bit but it is still a pretty good movie. In large part due to Gandolfini and especially Hardy.
