Review of The Drop (2006) by Raji K — 07 Nov 2015
James Gandolfini's final film is The Drop which he co-stars along with Tom Hardy. Hardy is a simple bartender who finds himself in trouble when is own bar is hit up and a jealous ex-boyfriend is after him.
Things get worse when the mob-boss owners of the bar that was rob expect him and Gandolfini to pay for the damages. The Drop is dark and gritty and has excellent characters. The film itself is somewhat slow and feels shallow, but luckily the stars make up for this.
The Drop had potential to be a better film than it was, but it will mostly forgettable.
