Review of The Driftless Area (2015) by Carmen P — 06 Nov 2016
Saw this movie at Tribeca last year. It's very different from the book, but the casting and photography are both outstanding. The story might be a bit confusing, with a leading character that seems as lost as spectators might find themselves at some points throughout the movie. Specially outstanding is Deschanel, probably the most mysterious character in the movie, who gives a great delivery that has nothing to do with bubbly, happy Jessica Day. She's dark, she's ethereally beautiful- and she is intriguing from the beginning. Plaza also gives a delivery far from her Parks and Recreation days, and keep an eye out for Langella.
Best part of the movie is its cast, with solid performances from everyone.
