Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by Roy P — 13 Mar 2008
Beautiful cinematography and a tremendous soundtrack, as well as an intruiging plot. Plus, Irene Jacob is soft on the eyes playing two roles. Essentially, this is a movie about two women who may be two sides of the same person.
They never meet each other but sense they are not alone. When one dies, the other tries to find a deeper meaning in her life. Might also be a political allegory about the sacrifice of Poland in 1968 to the Communists.
