Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by Tor M — 21 Jun 2009
I belive the plotline discribes a fair part of the themes in this movie; "Each of us is matched somewhere in the world, by our exact double - someone who shares our thoughts and dreams". Theres a lot more to it though.
Emotions, feelings, mysteriousness, sensuality, passion, music (and so on, and so on) everything packed with symbolism. Irène Jacob doeas a great job, the music is fantastic and the camera is searching and finding beauty in every shot.
It's like it shoot exactly what I want to see! I've saw the "Three Colors"-movies a while ago and this is very similiar to them. I've also find "Amelie" quite connected to this one in a way.
Krzysztof Kieslowski is a cinema guru and I look forward to check out other of his films and hoping they are as good as his other little "thinkers".
