Review of The Double (2014) by Cameron J — 18 Nov 2014
Not nearly as good as Dostoevsky's The Double and The Gambler, off of which this movie is based, but overall a solid attempt. The cinematography is a bit lackluster with washed out sepia colors to give it that old timey feel.
Eisenberg and Wasakowska both play withdrawn, shy characters - both of which are very adept at playing. Eisenberg's "double" character is a little less convincing. My only wish is that the film wasn't so obviously low budget.
It has that painful indie feel to it.
