Generic pot-boiler that, despite a couple of unpredictable plot twists and the redoubtable Gere in the lead, is a flimsy and tired cliche-cluster that fails to elicit a solitary thrill in either the drama or action departments.
1 star to me for managing to stay awake throughout.
