This movie was a disappointment to me. As a fan of classic rock and movies about rock bands, I was expecting this movie to focus more on the band as a whole, rather than soley on the band's charismatic, yet womanizing and oft-intoxicated lead singer, who already gets enough exposure anyway.

Robby Krieger, John Densmore, and my favorite member, Ray Manzarek, were largely ignored throughout the film. The title of the movie misleads its potential viewers into thinking it's about an entire band and not just its tragic figurehead.

The movie was just a long string of bad trips, concerts gone wrong, melodramatically recited poetry, sexual liasons, and some weird recurring appearance of some phantom Indian, the point of which is beyond me.

I was much more interested in finding out how Robby and John joined the group, how the band reacted to their fame, and what went on outside Jim Morrison's life, but this movie failed to tell me any of these things.

"The Doors", being about an amazing and influential band, had the potential to be a stunning biopic, but it failed miserably.
