Review of The Doors (1991) by Morgaine V — 30 Sep 2009
Now, fellow Doors fans please don't impale me. I actually enjoyed this film. It's a fun film to watch and it really does take you away into the late '60s and early '70s. Val Kilmer truly caught the essence of Jim. BUT (and this is a big one) it's quite fictional for a biopic. Oliver Stone portrayed Jim as a crazy, egocentric, senseless, drunk. He may have been a bit eccentric, but he was a smart man (IQ of 149) who had a lot of heart.
Watch the film if you already know about Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Kreiger, and John Densmore. That way, you won't be mislead.
