Review of The Doors (1991) by Brian R — 02 Dec 2011
Roger Ebert once said"Watching the movie is like being stuck in a bar with an obnoxious drunk, when you're not drinking.".
I have to agree...Morrison is a complete enigma where his inner demons got the best of him. I don't know what made Oliver Stone want to make this picture but it seems he has bitter feelings about Morrison persona or maybe not. I'm glad Stone was able to capture the essence of the 60's, the concert scenes look pretty amazing and of course if you'll like The Doors music then this picture is recommended. As for me? No. The Doors doesn't get my vote since Jim Morrison and his life with The Doors let me down with disappointment. Where is the real Jim Morrison fans of The Doors want to see?
