Review of The Doors (1991) by Maggiemgill — 26 May 2008
I never liked Val Kilmer (mainly due to his too masculine look), but I have to admit, he did quite a good job in The Doors.
I get confused at some point when watching The Doors. I am not sure about drug use and alcohol abuse. I remember there is a line in the movie, "Drug is a way to expand, not to escape." However, is it so true? Is drug a way to expand?
I don't know...
I think of my trip to Père Lachaise cemetery to look for Morrison's tomb 5 years ago. It is such a huge cemetery that I totally got lost in it. It's quite scary. Then I heard so many American English so I followed those people. And, yes I found his tomb. The ending scene reminds me of wondering in the cemetery in the search of Jim Morrison. No matter what, in my opinion, this is the purpose of a movie.
