An adaption of the best seller by John Irving. The story follows a family as they vacation at their beach house in East Hamton on Long Island. After a family tragedy the couple's marriage becomes strained.
The acting by Kim Basinger and especially Jeff Bridges is very good and the story is a bit plodding, but also well told.
