Review of The Door in the Floor (2004) by Derek L — 26 May 2008
It's amazing how Jeff Bridges can play a shit like Ted Cole and still be somewhat likable. Kim Basinger, on the other hand, doesn't seem like she's acting in her role of the long suffering wife who shtups the young assistant.
Being married to Alec Baldwin in a famously awful marriage must have given her many deja-vu moments in this film. This is American Bergman or French farce without the farce. These aren't insults but it's interesting to note how different cultures deal with the fact that the most heinous combat between two people is the naked aggression between husband and wife.
