Review of The Doom Generation (1995) by Cody P — 03 Mar 2010
This is my second favorite film by Gregg Araki, with Nowhere being my first. Raw, violent, funny, sadistic, sexual - all in all a fun ride! You must posses a dark sense of humor and enjoy quirky movies or it won't work for you.
Didn't pack that emotional punch that his others films have had for me, but where it lacked emotionally it made up for in pure fun. People are saying in review's that the acting is bad...I don't agree, but don't go in expecting to watch an Oscar nominated film! It's just the opposite.
It's supposed to be off the wall and unrealistic. Highly recommended. Plus, as in all Araki films, the soundtrack is brilliant!
