I thought there was just something missing. Walken plays the role of the mercenary who wants to get out of the game well, but that aspect of the character isn't developed as well as it should have been.
Walken seeks to regain his dignity after being captured, tortured and deported from a fictional West African nation. The build up is long, but the it ends far too quickly and easily.
