Review of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007) by Trevor W — 30 Sep 2009
A brilliant adaptation of the book. Astonishing that one man with locked-in syndrome could dictate his life story and his thoughts and philosophies, particularly surrounding his own mortality and morbidity through the blink of an eye.
The whole cast are impressive and the film is shot and directed with a care and subtlety that creates the time and space needed to fully appreciate the intricacies of the internal and external dialogues central to the film.
Beautiful.
