Review of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007) by Rachel G — 26 May 2009
I had sort of lost interest in this film when I learned that most of the movie is from the perspective of this guy lying in bed paralyzed. However, I'm glad I changed my mind and decided to watch it.
Julian Schnabel manages to make it so that you are immediately drawn in and feel as though you're in Jean-Do's position. It's really an incredible story, and one which I wasn't completely aware of.
The cinematography is beyond remarkable and it's a travesty that Kaminsky didn't win the Oscar for his work.
