Review of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (2007) by John H — 22 Aug 2009
Not as terrific as I had been led to expect, although the bit with Max Von Sydow was great.
Three observations:
1. Is "diving bell" a mistranslation? What was on screen was a diving suit.
2. I got really frustrated that they didn't adopt a more efficient encoding for him to "talk" with. Morse code, for example. Or something that used the fact that he could 'point' with his eye.
3. The 'blink when I reach the letter' system results in some subtitling comedy.
