Review of The Disaster Artist (2017) by Eric T — 22 Nov 2017
James Franco's work as director and lead are strongly put to the test, bringing Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber's script to life, recalling the story of such a notorious movie and how it became the next coming of Rocky Horror. His performance as Tommy Wiseau is absolutely uncanny, and I actually forgot it was James Franco. Dave Franco also is marvelous as Greg Sestro, it really captures that feeling of wanting to be famous so badly, even if it feels like a horrible decision.
This is the "Ed Wood" of the new generation, and I loved every fucking minute of it.
