Review of The Disaster Artist (2017) by Willzie C — 21 Dec 2017
I've been pretty excited to see this since it was first announced. The Disaster Artist is James Franco's best film yet, and will probably be his best when it is all said and done. The corky relationship between Tommy and Gregg hooks you in and will make you laugh and cringe, both an equal amount.
That's why I loved the Disaster Artist so much, a lot of times comedy is just as much about the bad as the good. Franco nails all of his intentions; he intents to make the audience feel uncomfortable and succeeds, success with the humour and most importantly succeeds with the feel good ending.
The Disaster Artist really depicts Franco's career, it seems like for the first time in the last 15 years, besides This Is The End, Franco has been able to have fun making a film and it shows with the end product.
Not only do you leave the theater feeling empathy for Tommy but you feel the same feelings of fruition with Franco.
