I don't think that people who have not seen The Room will love this film as much as I did. I am cognizant of the fact that seeing the source film and understanding how insanely bad it is makes The Disaster Artist a different experience.
But, on its own, this is a film about a person trying to create his dream (albeit an insanely lame one). James Franco took a few liberties with the story, but he clearly has a deep-rooted affection for Wiseau, his artistic goals, and his atrociously bad film.
