Review of The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009) by Taimur I — 10 Sep 2010
A taut, tense thriller with some really amazing twists.
I was really surprised with this UK import considering its basic premise: Two men kidnap a rich man's daughter. That's pretty much all I had heard about it and all I really can tell you without playing the role of spoiler.
Gemma Arterton surprised me as she shows some real acting chops as the victim after such throwaway roles in Quantum of Solace, Clash of the Titans and this summer's Prince of Persia.
I guarantee you will not see most of the twists in this one. Smart movie.
