Review of The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009) by Amanda C — 27 Nov 2010
Very well done movie, especially for an indie film. The story does not center on the family, or an escape, or what have you like most kidnapping movies do, but instead revolves solely around the kidnappers and the kidnappee.
The story is very well done, and the characters are opened up to you just enough to keep you switching back and forth between rooting for one or the other, but also to keep you in the dark as to their true motives.
Some of the story was a bit comical, and the ending was a little obvious, but a little not. All in all, a very well done suspense thriller, without the needless violence that seems to be rampant in most other movies.
