Review of The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009) by Sarah . — 17 Apr 2011
What a gem! Seeing the trailer for this I was instantly interested. I knew there would be some unexpected twists and that I'd hopefully be kept on the edge of my seat. Much to my pleasure, this film was not only very interesting and kept me guessing/curious all the way to the end, there was also a huge surprise that I really didnt see coming. Now, I feel the need to clarify the difference between a twist and a surprise. A twist is like the big thing that is revealed at the end or close to it that suddenly makes everything make sence and pieces everything together. A surprise is something that is revealed that you simply didnt think of/expect. The majority of this movie's twists are revealed/hinted at in the trailer. There is one surprise though that I honestly had no idea was coming and I was thoroughly shocked.
The characters were wonderfully dynamic. It was a brilliant story with many twists and turns. Its one of those movies that you want to rewatch as soon as you finish watching it. Good ending and just all in all a very enjoyable thriller. Gotta love the Brits.
What did this movie teach me? You cannot flush a bullet casing down the toliet. Who knew?
