Review of The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009) by Sage S — 05 May 2011

There's a lot that happens in this movie that I didn't anticipate--which is impressive considering that there are only three characters and three set locations. The characters are well-cast, with Gemma Arterton offering a convincing performance as a kidnapped heiress who vacillates between fear and anger, and Martin Compston and Eddie Marsan who turn out to be more than just vicious kidnappers.

This is a solid thriller for those who enjoy a suspenseful hostage story.
