Review of The Dirty Dozen (1967) by Mike P — 17 Sep 2010
As war movies go this is a perfunctory pick-em-off that delivers but doesn't excel. Lee Marvin was much better in Hell in the Pacific and he's not the only one who could have been telephoning in his performance here.
Inglourious Basterds was in part inspired by this movie, whose premise you can't quite suspend your disbelief enough to fully engage with.
