Review of The Dirty Dozen (1967) by Quinto W — 24 Oct 2010
Pure unadulterated fun. If you aren't smiling at the end of this film, then brother you are not a fan of action movies. The Dirty Dozen is what inspired films like Saving Private Ryan and The Thin Red Line.
Lee Marvin is just brilliant as the Major put in charge of the 12 convicted felons who he must whip into shape for a suicide mission. Ernest Borgnine is so underused as the General overseeing the whole operation.
You can tell he had fun though, especially during the war game sequence. If you have never seen The Dirty Dozen, do yourself a favor and rent it today.
