Review of The Dilemma (2011) by Alexander F — 24 Jun 2011
Well I guess you can call it a comedy if you can see the humor in infidelity and dishonesty which I can't. This movie lightly touches on these serious matters but really fails to dig deep. This is probably due to marketing and making money.
They don't want to bring the audience down too much. I am not saying "Dramedies" or "Dark Comedies" don't work. I am just saying that it didn't really work this time. I like that in the film everyone felt real.
Everyone was flawed and even the most flawed weren't put into the "I am a just plain evil villain" category. Don't go into this expecting big laughs. This really isn't a comedy no matter what the preview looks like.
