Review of The Dictator (2012) by Daniel C — 14 Dec 2013
Barring the hilarious and biting example of "Borat," I find most of Sacha Baron Cohen's solo ventures to be crass and needless diatribe ("Bruno" may very well be the worst movie I've ever seen), and that tradition continues with "The Dictator.
" Despite the extensive list of talent that rears its head throughout film, it remains mostly flat, unfunny and overly earnest. Don't get me wrong; there are a few guffaw-worthy moments to be had, but overall you're better off rewatching "Borat.
