Love horror movies. Liked house of 1000 corpses. Very underwhelmed by this movie. I expected insane, over the top, other-worldly horror. By making it clear what is going on and reducing the cast to the essential villains from the first film, the movie semi-humanized them and greatly reduced the horror for me.
Also, it lost at least 10 percent with the contrived, way too long Free Bird car ride and massacre at the end.
