A twisted bonnie and clyde adventure. a significantly better-made film than its prequel, House of 1000 Corpses. this movie actually has a story. it abandons the cheesy horror effects and deformed human-monsters living underground and pseudo-devil worship from the first movie for an oddly even-more twisted tone.
it is more a tale of psychopaths on the run from the law than a creepy haunted house with saturated colours and candles everywhere. ever-present is a twisted sense of humour with really very disturbing scenes in which the 3 main characters inflict physical and psychological torture on those unlucky enough to cross their path.
it's got slow-motion, classic rock and still a bit of the grindhouse feel. the movie shows the pinnacle of human depravity and the horrible things some people are capable of. it's a movie you sure as heel won't forget after u see it.
..ever.
