I will say that there are moments where Cooper's performances swept me up and I completely forgot that this was one actor playing two roles. That is meant as a high compliment, indeed.

However, a promising first act soon gives way to a muddled narrative and highly uneven tone.

There is a love story which seems shoehorned in only to allow for a shameless "twist" which feels cheap, manufactured and convenient.

The end beats quickly become predictable and pat - veering into bad Movie of the Week territory.
