Review of The Devil's Double (2011) by . S — 01 Dec 2011
Easily Tamahori's best film, Dominic Cooper gives a great performance (despite the odd faltering accent). He was especially great as the utterly batshit Uday.
The film is well paced and very tense, you almost dread each scene wondering what awfulness will happen next. There are actually only a few truly shocking scenes though, as the rest is merely implied but it's most effective. Not entirely sure about the ending which felt a bit rushed.
The script was good although I don't remember too much of the dialogue, nothing too quotable.
It does stick with you and I think I may pick up the blu ray as it is a film I'd watch again.
