Review of The Devil's Double (2011) by Brendanvaughn — 02 Aug 2011
Super dark. Hard to get through at times. Depravitous without redemption. Totally destructive and monstrous. Really successfully explores the true madness of Uday Hussein. Its like Caligula meets Tony Montana meets.
Really well done fun and wicked film. It kind of makes you feel not so bad about the destruction of the Iraqi ruling elite and family. Not very historically accurate but a pretty sensual and hypnotically surreal journey that ends with one questioning: WHY?! Dominic Cooper is amazing.
And actually all the acting is pretty superb.
