Review of The Devil's Brigade (1968) by Kim P — 07 Aug 2007
I actually really enjoyed this film. Not being especially versed in WW2 military history I could enjoy the film for what it was, Hollywood. Very rarely is anything even close to accurate. It was great to see Vince Edwards in one of his few major post Ben Casey roles, and I wonder why the parts for him disappeared.
I don't think I have ever seen Cliff Robertson any better, he was absolutley amazing. The first quarter bothered me, I couldn't get a real feel for the other men. There's no real emphasis on them as individuals, and I was still attaching names to faces after 3/4 of the film.
One of my new favorites, and a must see.
