Review of The Devil's Advocate (1997) by Matt M — 29 Jan 2013
This movie takes literal inspiration from the titlular phrase, and talks about a lawyer working for a law firm headed by a flashy, charming kind of guy who just so happens to be the devil. While the visuals are stunning, and Pacino is perfect as the devil, the screenplay is slow and lazy, and kills the film's flair, as it is obviously built around a final twist that is more suited to a commercial horror film than a psychological drama.
