Review of The Devil's Advocate (1997) by Jessica B — 25 Feb 2011
Thankfully this film and everything in it is good enough to disguise the usually horrendous performance from Keanu 'I'm made of wood' Reeves, who isn't as bad as normal anyway. As always Al Pacino is stupidly good.
The effects leave a bit to be desired but all the characters are likeable, the story is gripping and you get absorbed into it easily. The final sequence is such a relief, which testifies to the film's hook.
It keeps surprising the audience until the end. Definitely watch it.
