Review of The Devils (1971) by Thérèse F — 03 Jun 2008
Rarely has film captured religion and politics so well. Oliver reed is magnetic this is the film he should be remembered for.
The set and costumes are stunning and I am shure went on to heavily influence pinhead from hellraiser the scene where the younger priest is sent to vanessa redgrave.
The score does its job superbly and builds up the hysterical atmosphere as the madness explodes on the screen.
An absolute one of its kind.
