Review of The Devil Wears Prada (2006) by Dov D — 22 Jun 2012
I?m glad to report that the film The Devil Wears Prada is what I was hoping for. The movie reveals and pokes fun at the insanity of day to day life working at a fashion magazine and yet showcases how seductive it can be.
The casting of this movie was amazing. Meryl Streep was fantastic playing, Miranda Priestly, the devilish boss of Anne Hathaway?s character, Andrea Sachs. Anne Hathaway was also enjoyable to watch, as always.
Two more wonderful performances were turned in by Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, both playing roles as Andrea?s coworkers. It?s not surprising that this ?chick flick? based on ?chick lit? is targeted at girls and women.
With this target audience in mind, my only complaint is that I wish the story would have been a bit clearer with the message about body image?that thinner is not necessarily better. Overall, this is a great movie that should do very well in the theatres.
Definitely a must see for fans of ?Ulgy Betty?.
