Review of The Devil Rides Out (1968) by Kevin K — 03 Oct 2010
One of Hammer's and Terence Fisher's finest. Two veterans of the First World War (Lee and Greene) discover that the son of an old comrade (Mower) has been dabbling in black magic under the influence of the sinister Mocata (Gray).
What follows is a tense conflict between good and evil as Lee's Duc de Richleau uses his knowledge of the occult to protect his young friend. There are some really creepy moments, and it's a treat to see Lee playing the hero for once.
