Review of The Devil Inside (2012) by Jc E — 18 Jun 2012
This is like the umpteenth found footage "documentary" involving exorcisms, so it's nothing to get particularly excited about. Honestly, we've seen everything you can do with exorcism films before, in one form or another.
However - and if you haven't seen this film, this won't be a terrible spoiler - none of them have ended this abruptly or without closure as this film. You want to talk about a total lack of originality, then look no further than this film.
Unless the filmmakers intent was to irritate the viewers, this film was a misfire. Sure, it was cheap to make, but ending the film with no real resolution was a cheap shot in return. Nine times out of ten, exorcism movies fascinate me on one level or another, but not really this one.
Skip this and watch 'The Last Exorcism' or 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' instead - or just go back to 'The Exorcist' to see where the genre began.
